The hard convertible convertible roof consists of two elements; it can automatically fold or open on the move in 17 seconds at speeds up to 30 km / h.
When folding, the roof is cleaned in a special niche in the trunk, located under two "humps of security" that protect the driver and passenger in the event of a rollover. When the roof is raised, this niche can be used as an additional luggage compartment.
Like its twin coupe, the 12C Spider body is a one-piece carbon monocoque providing the necessary strength as well as excellent aerodynamic properties. To accelerate to a hundred kilometers per hour, the Spider needs only 3.1 seconds (when it is “shod” in Pirelli P Zero Corse tires), and its maximum speed is an incredible 329 km / h!
