In the popular tourist region of the United Arab Emirates, picnics were banned

Picnics on one of the picturesque embankments of the United Arab Emirates are prohibited by the authorities.

Picnics in the Al Majaz Waterfront area of the Emirate of Sharjah, UAE, are prohibited. Before the adoption of the new rules, the promenade was a popular place for picnics and parties. The decision to ban was made for aesthetic reasons, according to dignitaries.

"The green spaces at Al Majaz Waterfront adorn the facility and are not equipped for picnics," said Marwa Obeid Al-Shamsi, CEO of Al Majaz Waterfront, adding that visitors can still enjoy all the amenities of the waterfront, including playgrounds and fountains .

Al-Shamsi noted that to ensure proper maintenance of the facility, cleaners conduct daily checks to keep the site clean and to ensure the safety of the facility.
