The public sector of the United Arab Emirates goes on holidays for a week.
This year, UAE public sector workers will celebrate Eid al-Adha for a week. The government announced a five-day vacation for them from Sunday, August 19 to Thursday, August 23.
Employees of ministries and federal departments will resume work on August 26, according to a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers announced on Saturday.
The Cabinet’s announcement came after the Saudi Supreme Court declared: the Islamic month of Zul al-Hij begins on August 12, which means that Eid al-Adha falls on August 21.
Accordingly, Arafat Day, the 9th day of the Zul-hijah, will fall on August 20.
