In Dubai, a lifter ended up behind bars for a kiss of a female hand

The operator of the elevator in Dubai will serve a three-month prison sentence for kissing a woman's hand in the elevator.

The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted a 26-year-old cameraman from Pakistan who molested a woman from South Africa, kissed her hand and tried to hug her.

The woman told the police that the man she had first seen in her life harassed her in the elevator of an office building in Dubai where she works.

According to the testimony of the victim, soon after the elevator began to move up, a native of Pakistan wanted to shake her hand. The matter was not limited to shaking hands, the accused kissed the woman’s hand, and then tried to hug her, which the victim managed to stop.

"I stood in the corner of the elevator ... a man whom I had never met before asked about my nationality. I answered him, to which he, in turn, replied that he was from Pakistan ... I verbally greeted him. When the door opened, leaving from the elevator, he held out his hand for a handshake. He shook my hand and kissed her, and then I drew back his hand. When he asked me to give him his phone number, I refused. In court, the accused pleaded not guilty. But Judge Mohammad Jamal, the host of the trial, issued a guilty verdict and stated that the accused would be deported after serving a prison term.

A court decision may be appealed within 15 days.
