Dubai Expected to Increase Cruise Tourists

According to the Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing of the Government of Dubai (DTKM), cruise ships delivered 26,580 tourists to the emirate from April 6 to June 14 of this year.

DTCM representatives are confident that the number of passengers on cruise ships will increase significantly during the current year.

In particular, according to preliminary estimates, before the end of the year, 120 cruise liners with 325 thousand passengers on board will stop at the Dubai cruise terminal in the port of Rashid. For comparison, in 2008, 82 airliners with 182 thousand passengers stopped at this terminal, in 2009 - 100 airliners with 250 thousand passengers.

Costa Deliziosa, a well-known large cruise liner calling at the Dubai port, carries 10,358 travelers over five flights in three months. Other major liners also stopping in Dubai include the Brilliance of the Seas, which seats 4,287 passengers, AIDA Diva, 2,438 passengers and Costa Luminosa, 2,175 passengers.
