Fashion News

September is the most important month in the fashion industry, when all the fashion capitals vie for the right to be the first to show current trends. Dubai is not far behind. Here new talents are born and new conceptual boutiques do not stop opening.

Lanvin: Happy anniversary!

This year, the French Fashion House Lanvin celebrates its 125th anniversary. The festive theme is the family and mother-daughter relationships that underlie the brand’s DNA. The fact is that the House would not exist, if not for the daughter of Jeanne Lanvin - Marie Blanche. The first muse of the House inspired her mother to create children's dresses, and then a full collection. This is evidenced by the touching logo: mother with daughter. In honor of the brand’s anniversary, a capsule collection has been launched and a “secret room” has been opened - the personal office of Lanvin in Paris. And Albert Elbaz supported the theme and shot an ironic advertisement featuring model Edie Campbell and her entire family!

Kimora Lee Simmons

The famous French department store Galeries Lafayette gave an entertaining fashionable master class. He was led by an American model and former Chanel face Kimor Lee Simmons, who specially flew to Dubai for this. As part of the event, Simmons spoke about the main trends and secrets of style in the categories of "Abaya", "Casual Wear", "Little Black Dress" and "Evening Dress".

Monsters of Lagerfeld

Not inferior to Lady Gage, Karl Lagerfeld also gathered an army of "monsters" - fans of his inseparable companion, a cat named Chupet. Now she even has her own capsule collection of safianno leather accessories. Monster Choupette is available in black, blue and beige. And, by the way, every handbag or wallet is signed by Karl’s favorite. Lovely!

And again Daria!

The autumn-winter Diane von Furstenberg advertising campaign opens the new season as never before. With sparkle, flashes of paparazzi cameras and a sophisticated silhouette of model Daria Verbova in a cult dress with a smell. In the frozen frame, Daria embodies the woman to whom the Bohemian Wrapsody collection is dedicated - luxurious, dreamy, coveted ... Laird Partners and independent stylist Edward Enninful worked on the photo shoot.

Alyza

The trend for ethnic ponchos this fall is reflected in the new collection of local designer Alyza. Delicate lace, pastel colors, light chiffon degrade effect and asymmetrical tunics on the floor make the collection practical for our region. Items from this collection can be purchased at Professionelle Boutique at The Dubai Mall.

Where to study fashion in Dubai?

Dubai is a special city. Only here you can get accelerated training from professors of the world-famous school of design and fashion business London College of Fashion. From October 8 to 22, the university administration will bring new short courses on the programs "Handbag Design", "Starting Your Own Fashion Label", "Fashion Fabrics", "Fashion Buying - Dubai", "Visual Merchandising". COS - minimalism for Dubai?

Finally, Dubai, the city of luxury and abundance, is approaching the main global trend - the style of minimalism. This is evidenced by the new autumn-winter collection of COS. Karin Gustafson, the chief designer of the women's line, standing at the origins of the brand, revealed the secret of the brand's chic: the collection is inspired by utilitarianism and nature. According to Karin, clothes from COS are "modern, tactile and timeless." Smooth lines, organic textures and functional details are complemented by shades of earth - the current color of the new season.

Tweed, which solemnly returns to world catwalks in the fall, is also present here: COS skirts and cardigans are made from high-quality handmade Haris tweed. In the Middle East, COS is represented in a branded boutique at The Dubai Mall.
