Taiwanese-born American pianist Stephen Lin will give Dubai's only concert as part of the World Classical Music Series on March 23 at the One and Only Royal Mirage. The program will feature the brilliant masterpieces of Robert Schumann, Ludwig van Beethoven, Nikolai Metner and Franz Liszt.
Stephen Lin was born in 1989. At the age of 10, he was admitted to the Juilliard School of Music as part of the preparatory program and received a full scholarship. He studied with Joheved Kaplinsky and twice won the competition held by the renowned music school. At the age of 13, he performed with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time in the Avery Fisher Hall.
Then he continued his studies in Juilliard with Matti Raecalio and Robert MacDonald, currently studying at the Curtis School of Music in Philadelphia. In 2012, Lin took third place in the William Kappel competition and first in the Gina Bachauer competition, in 2008 - first place in the Tang Daintsey international competition in New York and finally second place in the Arthur Rubinstein competition in Tel Aviv in May 2014.
Lin performs in France, Ireland, Korea, Japan, the USA with audiences and soloists with orchestras such as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore CO, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and others.
