10 unusual cafes in Dubai

Are you tired? Want to sit quietly over a cup of coffee in a beautiful and unusual place? And to make it also tasty? Here are a few places to look curiously.

The victorian

The Victorian Cafe is all the best of the Victorian era. It combines romance and etiquette with modern cooking. The menu is composed of classic British dishes: soups, salads, truffles and, of course, excellent steaks and fish platter. Sweet tooth will also find something interesting for themselves, for example, the freshest pasta, which literally melt in your mouth. It is also a pleasure to stop by for a delicious and varied breakfast and traditional afternoon English tea. It is served in a china set with a set of small sandwiches, cones and pastries. You will be offered a choice of more than 15 different varieties of tea, each of which is worthy, strong and aromatic. Etiquette, architecture, art, culinary and even fashion are combined here to fame.

Comptoir 102

Comptoir 102 is a French concept store and cafe: fashion, interiors and healthy eating. The institution offers raw food, gluten-free and vegan dishes, organic juices and smoothies. And after lunch, you can explore the collection of clothes, accessories and household goods, selected, according to the owners, "with great love."

This is exactly how you imagine a Parisian-style healthy food cafe: a relaxed atmosphere and a bamboo-fenced greenhouse in the back of the cafe. The menu always has an assortment of juices, salads and sandwiches, but you will find the most interesting dishes in the daily changing menu from the chef. If you stop by the cafe in the evening, you may find that the specialties are already over. Comptoir 102 does not like to throw away or freeze food, so all fresh dishes are eaten on the same day. So if you are for a healthy diet - and a healthy sense of pride in yourself after a meal - then you are here.

Culinary boutique

At first, you might think that you accidentally went into a designer furniture store. A wavy ceiling, copper utensils, strategically placed pillows - even now on the cover of an interior magazine. This is not surprising: the director of the cafe is the Emirate entrepreneur Hessa Al-Kassim. Previously, she studied at the Dubai Top Chef culinary school, but now she also runs an elite clothing atelier.

In this quiet place in Jumeirah, it’s not only cozy, but also very tasty. As befits the creator of the culinary school, Hessa compiled an interesting menu of unique coffee drinks: the main specialty is cappuccino with lavender extract, which has already become the most photographed coffee on Instagram in the city. On the second floor there is a culinary school with excellent kitchen equipment. The school offers many different lessons for beginners and professionals of all ages.

Intersect by Lexus

A modern cafe with an innovative idea: from the very association with the Lexus automobile concern to alternative methods of brewing coffee. Located in DIFC. Coffee is served here at a temperature of 65 degrees - ideal to maintain maximum texture and sweetness. The spacious concept store and restaurant are designed in the same style: leather seats - the same as in Lexus salons, bamboo grilles on the walls; a carefully selected collection of books on art and design, arranged in six tall cabinets. Three separate menus are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also order something completely unconventional, for example, beet-barley risotto: the taste of barley stewed in beet juice was much deeper than you might imagine. When serving, add slices of bright high-quality beetroot and sour cream fresh to the risotto, which perfectly sets off the vegetable sweetness, and decorate the plate with fresh parsley, chives, and edible flowers. It is also worth a peek at the brunch.

Tub of butter

An interesting cafe and deli Tub of Butter, which means “Bath with oil”, is located on Sheikh Zayed Highway. This quaint, homely establishment is open right next to the Metropolitan Hotel Dubai. Classical Mediterranean cuisine is presented here: from healthy Dubai breakfasts (recommended) to oven pizza and baked chicken. And Tub of Butter has a very large assortment of gifts in beautiful and creative packaging: from cookies in cute baths to sauces based on olive oil in shaving cream bottles. Jams and butter are also served in the baths. The puns on the walls of the restaurant look funny: "You Had Me At Butter" ("You said only" butter "", with the implied continuation of "and I was yours") or "You're the Apple of My Pie" (usually they say apple of my eye - "apple of the eye", but here it turns out "you are the filling of my pie"). The design is quite industrial: bulbs without shades hang from the ceiling, and the pipes are not covered by anything. A cute finishing touch: cappuccino is served here with portraits of famous people - from presidents to film actresses. The choice is yours!

Burger & lobster

Burger or lobster - that’s the question. Do not laugh - this is really a difficult choice. Fortunately, in the Burger & Lobster cafe this choice is simplified: if the cafe menu has only two dishes, then you need to order both. Restaurants of this network are in the USA, England, Sweden, Kuwait and more recently in Dubai in the DIFC area. There are three dishes on the Burger & Lobster menu: beef burger, lobster roll or a whole lobster, which can be ordered either steamed or grilled. Each of these dishes costs 127 dirhams and is served with french fries, salad and signature lemon and butter sauce.

But it seems that the owners of the establishment want us to choose lobsters: the walls and corridors are decorated with wooden lobsters, and lobsters swim in giant aquariums. The main dining room looks modern and industrial: on its edges are red leather sofas, and next to the open kitchen are large, high tables. A variety of people come here, and the atmosphere is very lively - not least because of the background music, peppy and very loud.

Cafe belge

Café Belge, designed in the spirit of the "golden era" of Brussels of the 20s, is located in the hotel The Ritz Carlton in the Dubai financial center. The room has expensive Art Nouveau furniture: even now for a retro-style postcard. The bar impresses with a collection of imported Belgian beer - both in taps and in bottles - and the menu boldly combines classic tastes, such as foie gras on caramel wafers. Believe me, this is a great idea. All the staff from Europe, the waiters are smart and polite, and the music is just a breath of fresh air: the most diverse funk, hip-hop, jazz and a surprisingly melodic lounge. It also features a separate brunch menu.

Molecule

In the most creative district of Dubai, the Dubai Design District, recently a new player has entered the restaurant scene - a bistro cafe, lounge and Molecule art gallery with bistronomic cuisine. The concept of bistronomy is described as the next step in restaurant culture. It incorporates bold and rich flavors using quality, fresh ingredients from dishes served in a relaxed atmosphere. Chef Udo Moro, who is known for launching Michelin-starred restaurants, Joël Robuchon in Paris and London, is responsible for its implementation at Molecule. The concept of bistronomy is focused on the use of seasonal products in combination with regional tastes. Much attention is paid to the design and aesthetics of the Molecule. Lebanese architect Fadi Sarieddine of design studio Fadi Sarieddine has applied his experimental approach to the image of Molecule, focusing on mixing traditional design with unconventional materials.

El chiringuito

El Chiringuito, located in Rixos The Palm Dubai, is a beach club on the sea, but also a cozy cafe, which is nice to run into for lunch. If you do not live on Palm, you can still join in the fun and spend the whole day on the beach. Entrance for ladies is free, and for men on any day of the week it will cost 100 dirhams. The cafe is decorated in a Mediterranean style, the interior is designed in white colors with a ton of hanging bougainvilleas. Great place for photos. In the evenings, the place turns into a stylish lounge with house music. A good alternative to Blue Marlin Ibiza, besides you do not need to leave Dubai.

Bistro des arts

Bistro des Arts - Parisian bistro in the style of the 70s with a view of Dubai Marina. It offers classic home-style French dishes, rustic décor, and a cozy terrace that looks like a garden.

Unpretentious and seemingly inconspicuous little things are placed around the hall: bottles with wax candles, menus on chalk boards, French retro posters. Of course, if they had fed tastelessly here, all this would not have mattered, but they are fed well. Large snails, a pissaladier pie with anchovies, even a simple gratin dofinua - all cooked in the most French style. Of the second courses, we recommend a giant duck burger: thanks to the soft onion marmalade hidden in a thick sweet bun, everyone can cope with it. Restaurants like La Serre and La Petite Maison can sit quietly on their gourmet thrones: Bistro Des Arts appears in a completely different price category.
