Bvlgari sets world record at watch fair in Basel

At the famous watch exhibition BaselWorld 2017, Bulgari presents several revolutionary developments at once, including the thinnest automatic watches in the world - Octo Finissimo Automatic with a thickness of only 5.15 mm.

The new world record will be on a par with brand achievements such as the success of the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon in 2014 and the Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater in 2016.

The new Octo Finissimo Automatic was presented with the new Serpenti, a bright and fresh image of the iconic brand. This is the first fully customizable watch from Bulgari.

The thickness of the Octo Finissimo Automatic Caliber BVL 138 movement is only 2.23 mm with a diameter of 40 mm. The second hand makes 21600 oscillations per hour, and the mechanism has a 60-hour power reserve.

Bulgari also prepared a substantial revision of their iconic Serpenti. Forever young, the new Serpenti has acquired a new spectrum of emotions with a double strap made of multi-colored exotic leather. As a natural and legal continuation of the Serpenti saga, these new belts are made of karung, especially resistant and elastic skin. The modern version in the most bold way demonstrates its versatile nature.

Serpenti straps are designed with an extremely practical fastening system in place, which makes it easy to replace, personalizing the look. There are two watch strap materials - made in karung and calfskin - and a wide range of complementary shades in Bulgari boutiques. The new Serpenti will be available in them from May. To find the perfect combination, Bulgari has prepared an application designed to facilitate the process of selecting elements. It will allow you to create your own Serpenti, choosing a case, dial, jewelry and strap, as well as engraving on the back cover. An affordable palette of combinations and color schemes contains a total of 312 variations, providing plenty of opportunities for women looking for “their own Serpenti”. Buyers can make a watch unique and endlessly insanely desired.

Bulgari chief executive officer Jean-Christophe Babin and watchmaking managing director Guido Terreni held a press conference along with several brand ambassadors. Among the “ambassadors” were Chris Wu, who represents the global brand in Greater China; John Cortajarena; actress Laura Harrier; Digital Ambassador Jasmine Sanders; and Caroline Vreeland, the freshest “replenishment” of the Bulgari family.

After the press conference, the opening of the stand took place, special attention in the device of which was paid to the unique combination of Swiss watchmaking and Italian design. The next item on the program was cocktails that attracted five celebrities and numerous members of the press.
