Henry Cavill: Man or Superman?

Looking at the magnificently built and broad-shouldered Henry Cavill, it is hard to believe that in his youth he was full and shy, and his classmates teased him, calling him "fat Cavill." The path to the star Olympus of the future superhero was thorny and confused. However, having shown a steel character, the blue-eyed Briton with a piercing look and a million-dollar smile still got his chance to wake up famous.

One of the most necessary qualities that Henry Cavill learned from his childhood in the Channel Islands is the ability to never give up. It was he who helped him survive all the failures and turn from a plump teen into a real superman. Already studying at school, he set himself a firm goal: by all means become a famous actor. In those days, earning extra money on the set of the film "Proof of Life", Henry accidentally met Russell Crowe. After a short conversation, Russell sent him his photo from the “Gladiator” with the caption: “Dear Henry, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a small step. Russell.” This photo was a great motivator for the young man. For one of his first roles in the film "Count of Monte Cristo" in a short time he had to lose more than 10 kg, and this was only the first step to fame.

Absurd setbacks awaited the actor: the black streak began with his trials for the role of Cedric in the film "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" - Robert Pattinson was invited to shoot. Later, he was casting for the role of Edward Cullen, but at that time he was 24 years old and he could no longer play a young vampire. The role again went to Robert Pattinson. Worst of all, when Daniel Craig stole the role of James Bond from under his nose. Such unfortunate failures led to the fact that the actor was called "the most unlucky guy in Hollywood". Then Henry seriously considered leaving the cinema and enlisting in military service after the older brothers. Fortunately, in 2007 he received one of the main roles in the historical series The Tudors.

Until that moment, Henry was little acquainted with the era of the XVI century, but this circumstance did not prevent him from brilliantly playing the English nobleman Charles Brandon. It was thanks to this role that American viewers learned about the British beauty, and the actor’s career finally went uphill. Almost immediately after the end of the series, Henry was waiting for another successful role of Theseus in a large-budget film "War of the Gods: Immortals". The image of a half-naked ancient Greek hero brought the actor millions of fans around the world.

But crazy success and huge popularity were waiting for him to come when Henry appeared on wide screens as the main character of the film "Man of Steel". However, in order to get used to the role of Superman, Henry had to work hard. The favorite trick of costumers in films about superheroes - the creation of a relief costume with fake muscles - did not work: the actor had to appear naked in the frame. In addition, the film's director Zack Snyder wanted Henry to really feel like a real "man of steel." To achieve this goal, Henry turned for help to Mark Twight, a trainer and former world-famous climber, under whose supervision the actors from the movie 300 Spartans. His technique was difficult, but only it allowed the actor to achieve incredible physical fitness. The main thing is that after exhausting training, he looked at the world through the eyes of a man who discovered a new limit of possibilities. "It was a fantastic moment, some incredible feeling. I crossed the line that I had previously considered the limit of the possible. I felt as if I had earned the right to become the new Superman.", Henry recalled later. As a result, Kal-El Superman came out so believable that the costume was devoid of any props.

Then followed a brilliant art thriller from Guy Ricci "Agents A.N.K.L"where the colorful main characters of a man were more beautiful than women. Henry brilliantly played the tall, intelligent, handsome CIA agent Napoleon Sol, seducing women and saving the world along the way, which finally secured him the status of a new Hollywood hero.

After the success of the picture, Zack Snyder immediately announced that he was starting filming the second part. "Man of Steel" and sees nobody else but Henry in this role. Large-scale premiere "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be held March 25th.
