Dozens of environmentally friendly mini-buses of luxury class will go on the roads of Dubai

About a hundred eco-friendly buses will serve several new routes in Dubai.

94 small-sized buses with low fuel consumption will leave on 17 routes in Dubai. This was announced on July 6, 2019 by the Emirate's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Nine routes will be new to the city. They will serve residential areas that are now managing without bulky buses.

"The supply of a new batch of buses is part of the RTA master plan to improve the quality of public transport in Dubai and meet the best international standards. Our goal is to provide the best possible service to public transport passengers," said RTA General Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors Mattar Al Thayer.

British Optare buses can accommodate 32 people in seating and another 9 standing passengers. The buses have seats and special check-in for people with special needs. Inside, a Wi-Fi network is deployed and USB ports are available for charging mobile devices.
