On the approach of emergency vehicles drivers in the UAE will be notified by radio

Emergency vehicles in the United Arab Emirates will be notified by radio.

From now on, sirens are not the only way to notify motorists about the approach of ambulances. In the emirate of Sharjah, UAE, drivers will hear relevant radio announcements in their cars.

Sharjah police launched a device that can transmit messages on radio waves and inform motorists about the approach of an emergency or patrol car, which must be given way.

Major General Ahmed Saeed Al Nawos said the gadget will provide a quick response to emergencies and help services get to their destinations as soon as possible.

Radio messages will be sent in several languages, Major General explained. The device provides several modes: the first warns drivers about the approach of an emergency or police car, the second informs them that the car is parked in front, and the third asks to stop and works when the police car approaches the intersection.

Recall, not so long ago in the UAE toughened the punishment for interfering with emergency vehicles.
