In the United Arab Emirates, severely punished for parking near mosques

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates launched a campaign against offending motorists in this Ramadan.

The police of the Emirate of Sharjah, UAE, launched a large-scale campaign against violators who randomly park their cars near mosques in this Ramadan.

Last Saturday, May 18, a large number of car owners were fined up to 500 dirhams ($ US 136) for parking their cars in the wrong places and interfering with traffic.

A senior traffic police official told the media that the department had already warned people and disseminated information about the ban on chaotic parking near mosques.

As part of the campaign, police respond to complaints from people and reinforce inspections near mosques. Persons parking their cars improperly and occupying free parking spaces intended for mosque visitors during prayers will be punished.
