Chinese taxi will appear in the United Arab Emirates

Chinese taxi operator comes to the Dubai market.

The seventh taxi operator began work in Dubai, adding 100 cars to the emirate's taxi fleet. The new player in the market is the Chinese company Oneroad Taxi.

By 2020, the operator plans to expand its fleet to at least 2 thousand cars, including limousines, taxis for women and taxis for people with special needs.

The first 100 Oneroad Taxi cars are presented by Toyota Camry. In the future, the company plans to add Chinese-made Hongqi H7 and H5 luxury cars to the taxi fleet.

The CEO said the company is working on developing a taxi order application that is expected to be launched over the next few weeks.

The expansion of the emirate’s taxi fleet is consistent with the Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) strategy to increase its taxi fleet ahead of the Dubai Expo 2020.

"Demand for taxis is growing, and we are gradually expanding our fleet ahead of Expo 2020," said Muhammad Abubaker Al Hashemi, Business Planning Director of the RTA Public Transport Agency.

Al Hashemi said that the event will involve 2.5 thousand taxis.

Given the new cars Oneroad currently residents and guests of Dubai are served by 10.8 thousand taxis.
