Part of Dubai will turn into an open-air museum

The ruler of Dubai presented an initiative to launch the largest art space in the city.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai, launched a project to turn Jumeirah into a cultural center.

The Jumeirah project is an initiative of Brand Dubai, the creative division of Dubai Media Office (GDMO). According to the idea, Jumeirah should become a center for local, Arab and international artists. The project will be implemented in partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the Dubai Municipality, the Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing and the Dubai Sports Council.

As part of the Jumeirah project, 30 art projects will be implemented at 30 points along the Jumeirah Road in partnership with 30 artists.

The painting of scenes will reflect the theme of the relationship between the past and present of the city, as well as the characteristic features of Dubai.

Jumeirah will also host several events, including Dubai Fitness Challenge and Gov Games. Sports activities to be held at Jumeirah include a marathon, swimming competition, triathlon, children's competition, yoga event and beach soccer tournament. The new center will also host traditional boat races and a food festival.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the concept of the project and said: “We need a clear strategy and goals to translate our ideas into reality. The UAE development model, which focuses on the happiness of people, has earned worldwide recognition. Our goal is to provide a leap into the future in which we can achieve international leadership by using our innovative capabilities and providing the highest results in our endeavors.We want all our initiatives and projects to be driven by innovations.We will provide all the support and resources needed for the realization of forward-looking and creative ideas. "

Jumeirah Road has a host of iconic tourist attractions such as Burj Al Arab, Madinat Jumeirah and Wild Wadi Water Park.
