In Dubai, 3 passengers were hospitalized flights from Dubai

Some passengers on a flight that flew from Dubai to New York yesterday were hospitalized.

On September 5, 2018, an Emirates airline flying from Dubai to New York was temporarily put in quarantine upon arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport. The reason was a massive illness of passengers. Upon arrival, they were met by representatives of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as city police officers.

Flight EK 203 carried more than 500 passengers. Ten people, including three passengers and seven crew members, were taken to the hospital for further medical supervision, as they had signs of illness.

A little later, the airline said: "Emirates can confirm that all passengers disembarked from flight EK 203. All passengers were checked by local health authorities before disembarkation, and three passengers and seven crew members were taken to the hospital for further medical care and observation."

"Nine passengers underwent an additional medical examination at the site near the aircraft and were released. The remaining passengers were allowed to undergo customs inspection," the statement said.

The return flight EK 204 from Dubai International Airport was delayed for approximately three hours.

The airline apologized for the inconvenience, adding that the safety of passengers and crew is its priority.

Raul Contreras, a spokesman for the New York City Hall, said that 10 out of 19 people who had symptoms of the disease were taken to hospitals and the remaining nine refused treatment.

A spokesman for the mayor of New York said the causes of the disease are being established, but "symptoms indicate an acute respiratory illness."

Flight passengers praised the professionalism of the crew, who promptly responded to the emergency.
