The second Arab Hope Prize awarded in Dubai

The second Arab Hope Makers award ceremony took place in Dubai.

Dubai, UAE. The second Arab Hope Makers award ceremony was held in Dubai. The winner of the first prize was Egyptian Mahmoud Wahid, who built a Ma3ana shelter for thousands of homeless elderly people in Egypt. He received a prize of 1 million dirhams (US $ 273 thousand).

He said that he plans to spend these funds on further charity work. It should be noted that 4 more finalists selected by the judiciary received similar prizes: Naval Mustafa from Egypt (for helping women prisoners), Manal Musal from Kuwait (for helping refugees from Syria), Siham Zherzhes from Iraq (for helping sick, widows and for orphans) and Faris Ali from Sudan (for fighting hunger in schools).

Finalists were selected from 87 thousand nominees aged 5 to 95 years, representing 15 Arab and 20 non-Arab countries. The largest number of applications came from Saudi Arabia.
