The UAE Cabinet of Ministers ordered the introduction of a new facilitated procedure for the provision of entry visas for transit passengers at all airports of the country.
The UAE authorities have begun to develop a new regulation, allowing all air passengers making a transfer at UAE airports to obtain a visa to visit the country.
According to the new rules, transit passengers who wish to visit the sights of the country will be able to obtain a visa and take advantage of the tourism potential of the country.
The new policy is aimed at improving the procedure for obtaining a visa, which will allow transit passengers to leave the airport while waiting for the next flight. This innovation will significantly increase the tourist flow in the UAE.
The cabinet formed a working group under the leadership of the Federal Agency for Identity and Citizenship to prepare a new regulation, taking into account the possible positive effect on the tourism industry and the economy as a whole.
About 70 percent of all passengers passing through the UAE airports in 2017 were transit passengers.
The new regulation will include a listing of visa fees, disclose a mechanism to increase the flow of transit passengers, and also offer ways to promote tourist attractions in the country.
