15 Smart Visa Application Centers Opened in Dubai

The classic visa application centers in Dubai are being replaced by “smart” ones that allow you to carry out all operations “in one window”.

Dubai residents can now choose from 15 smart Amer Visa Application Centers. They allow you to complete all visa procedures in one institution. According to the General Directorate for Residents and Foreigners in Dubai (GDRFA), more than 44 thousand operations were carried out in 15 centers opened last year.

Ultimately, fifty Amer centers are expected to replace 600 regular visa centers in the emirate.

Amer centers, according to GDRFA forecasts, will increase efficiency and will be able to provide up to 6 thousand operations per day. The centers receive and process applications for visas in the UAE and send them to GDRFA in electronic form, which allows residents to complete visa operations without visiting the headquarters and offices of GDRFA.

According to the GDRFA report, the number of travelers in Dubai (arriving and departing) through sea, land and air channels has reached 52.95 million. This is 6.6 percent more than in 2016.

Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al-Marri, CEO of GDRFA, said: “We strive to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality at our airports in response to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and the ruler of Dubai to make Dubai International Airport a "gateway to the world" for people from different countries.
