UAE bought the most expensive painting in history

The authorities of Abu Dhabi acquired Da Vinci's work “Savior of the world”, the most expensive painting in history.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi has confirmed that Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece “Savior of the World” will become part of the museum’s exposition, and the emirate’s government, which acquired a job for $ 450 million on behalf of the Department of Culture and Tourism, will own the most expensive painting in history.

Initially, the identity of the buyer was not called, but later in the press there was information about the crown prince of Saudi Arabia. Sources in Saudi Arabia confirmed that the information about the acquisition of the painting at Christie's auction in New York by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was incorrect.

"The Savior of the World" is da Vinci's last painting in private possession and one of a small number of works written by renowned Renaissance artists and preserved to this day.

"Savior of the world" was considered lost until 2005, when it was not put up in poor condition at the Louisiana auction house. Later, the masterpiece was restored and acquired by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev.

The work will hang in the Louvre next to another painting by da Vinci - "The Beautiful Ferronier." This is one of the most popular exhibits in the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
