The meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Emirate Commission ends in Abu Dhabi

On November 26, the seventh meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Emirate Commission opened in the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

November 27 in the capital of the UAE is the last day of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Emirate Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation.

The seventh meeting of the commission is held in Abu Dhabi with the participation of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The forum is organized by the Russian Export Center.

"The meeting reflects the desire of the two countries to advance bilateral relations to a higher level," His Highness Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said in his speech. He praised the results achieved during the meetings of the committee over the past period.

Following a meeting with Denis Manturov, Sheikh Abdullah in a joint statement said that after the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations between the countries in 1972, the UAE and Russia are steadily moving towards strengthening cooperation in all areas.

In turn, Denis Manturov expressed gratitude to His Highness for his outstanding role in promoting relations between the two countries, confirming that the UAE is one of the main partners of Russia in the Middle East region.

An important event on the first day of the meeting was the signing of the Agreement on the scientific, technical and industrial cooperation of enterprises in civilian industries. Denis Manturov noted that this document is considered as a starting point for a detailed study of promising joint projects.

An important topic of the meeting was also the expansion of export activities. The possibility of creating a large grain hub in the UAE to supply Russian grain to the Gulf countries and the entire Middle East is being considered.

The result of the IGC meeting was the signing of the final protocol, the Agreement between the governments of the two countries on scientific, technical and industrial cooperation of enterprises in civilian industries, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Agency for Tourism and the Ministry of Economy of the UAE on cooperation in the field of tourism.

During his working trip, Denis Manturov also met with Crown Prince Abu Dhabi Muhammad bin Zayed al Nahyan. Along with the discussion of the issue of maintaining the positive dynamics of bilateral economic relations, the subject of dialogue was cooperation in the research and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.

A proposal was discussed for the use of Russian satellite navigation technologies based on GLONASS in the UAE.
