Nearly a third of Dubai's adult adults suffer from diabetes

A new study revealed a large number of undiagnosed cases of diabetes among residents of Dubai.

According to a study, nearly a third of Dubai's adult population is at risk of diabetes.

The Dubai Health Administration has conducted a study of 5,000 foreign residents and citizens over the age of 18 for a report that first examined the prevalence of undiagnosed cases prior to diabetes.

It was found that the prevalence rate of diabetes is 19% among the emirates. The study revealed 11% of undiagnosed diabetics and 18.6% in the pre-diabetic phase.

Among expats, the prevalence rate was 14.7%, with 11.3% of undiagnosed diabetics and 15.5% being in the pre-diabetic phase revealed.
