Big Ballet Evenings

Autumn is coming to an end. And there is winter. So. What do we have in winter? That's right - Christmas and New Year, a Christmas tree, gifts, Santa Claus with a Snow Maiden or Santa Claus, a reindeer team, flickering lights and a lot of snow ... Or sand, as someone lucky ...

But there is one tradition that today is associated with the onset of the New Year holidays and holidays - these are the seasons of Russian ballet in the UAE. This time the winter season will be opened by the ballet troupe of the Rostov State Opera and Ballet Theater with performances of, perhaps, the most beloved and well-known dance performances - Giselle and The Nutcracker. The choreographer and chief choreographer is the People's Artist of Russia Alexey Fadeyechev. After the resounding success of Puccini's opera Madame Butterfly performed by the actors of the opera troupe of the same theater, the Rostovites became favorites of the theater audience in the Emirates.

It makes no sense to retell the libretto of both performances. Everyone knows the story of The Nutcracker, who, after struggling with the Mouse King and other adventures, becomes the Beautiful Prince and takes his bride to the Land of Flowers. Or the beautiful Giselle, who died of unhappy love and turned into an incorporeal spirit, punishing Albrecht, who betrayed her love. The main thing is the magical music of Tchaikovsky and Adolph Adam, colorful costumes, talented dancers ... Winter seasons will take you to the world of fairy tales and childhood ...

The organizers of the tour, as always, were Great Entertainment Company. According to its director Katherine Gaspard: "There will be no more December without ballet." Well, thanks! On behalf of all theater lovers.

Performances will be held in Dubai (at the Madinat Theater): Giselle - November 29 and 30 and The Nutcracker - from December 1 to 3, and also in the UAE capital - Abu Dhabi (at the Emirates Palace Theater): Giselle - 7 December and The Nutcracker - December 8.
