"Wild Passion" Ruslana

The first impression is often misleading. At the Eurovision-2004 contest, a young Ukrainian singer Ruslana, dressed in a suit of leather rags and therefore similar
to the Amazon, she seemed adult insolent and even aggressive. Perhaps this very insolence allowed the song “wild dances” to become an unbeatable hit, and its performer to win a bright victory in this prestigious musical marathon and bring Eurovision 2005 to her homeland in Kiev.

Ruslana, whom we met in Dubai, is a calm and confident professional singer. True, she still looks like an 18-year-old student ...

“My dad works as an engineer in a company that provides heat to the apartments of citizens. In a sense, we have a similar task - to bring warmth to people,” the singer says. She is doing everything to ensure that in her homeland she is known not only as a star of the Orange Revolution. In her country, Ruslana is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, participates in campaigns to preserve historical monuments and castles. The famous and beloved singer in Ukraine did not go to the Maidan for the sake of fame. It coincided. But even a pop star does not manage to be out of politics. “Today it’s very difficult for me to devote all of myself to serving my country. I’m still young, but our democracy needs the support of young people, so I stand for a free and strong Ukraine,” says Ruslana.

But we digress from the topic of creativity. But what happens to the new hits?

Wild life of the Carpathian mountains

Ruslana came to Dubai to present to her fans the club remixes of her famous “Wild Dances”, which were called “Wild Songs”, “Wild Dances” and “Wild Passion”. The singer insists that everything that she performs today, has the definition of "wild". Remixes were made by the most popular and trendy DJs. "My music was created for those people who are ready to dance all night long," says Ruslana.

The somewhat uniform concepts of musical compositions are caused not at all by the lack of imagination, as it may seem. All of Ruslana’s music was inspired by a unique source, from where she draws inspiration. All songs are imbued with folklore of the Carpathian Mountains, where they carefully keep forgotten legends of pre-Christian times and pass on word of mouth about the former rulers of the ancient Carpathian castles, which, according to legend, did not even have vampires. “The Carpathian mountains are just mysticism. True, in our area there are no mysterious mountains with a dark history, like in Romania, for example. Have you ever heard of Transylvania? About Count Dracula? It's not about our Carpathians,” the singer shares her impressions. "I participated in almost twenty folklore expeditions to the Carpathian Mountains. I lived there and studied the everyday life of the highlanders well. You can’t imagine how extreme it is!"

Wild rhythm is a philosophy

Among the drums and modern guitars, traditional pipes, carved from willow vines, found their place. Behind clothes from pieces of torn leather lies the whole life philosophy of a very young singer. "Be wild. Wildness is free. Wild rhythm" - these are the three main messages that Ruslana carries "to the people." So the official press releases of the singer at the meeting with the Dubai media were entitled. Madness? Not at all! She is completely sincere in her statements.

Ruslana really lives and works in a "wild" rhythm. Her working day lasts almost 20 hours: rehearsals, concerts, interviews, shootings for magazines. She does not think herself outside of work and creativity. After a brief respite in Dubai, the singer leaves for Miami
record your new album.

“I’m not going to conquer the West and I don’t want to conquer the East. I recently gave 20 concerts in the UK and for 11 weeks occupied the first lines of the charts in Belgium,” she says. “I can still achieve a lot and want to achieve a lot in life. All "I keep my doubts to myself. One thing I know for sure: I have to work and sing. Even at home in Ukraine they know very little, which means I have something to strive for."

Young, beautiful, daring ... Good luck, Ruslana. You have a long and thorny career. Be wild.
