The United Arab Emirates allocated $ 130 million for the construction of Mars Scientific City - a model of the future Martian city.

On Tuesday, the UAE unveiled plans to build a city called Mars Scientific City worth 500 million dirhams ($ 136 million). The model will become a simulator of life on Mars.

The area of the town will be 1.9 million square meters. feet, which will make it the largest simulation of a space settlement ever created and providing a viable and realistic simulation of living conditions on the surface of Mars.

The project includes laboratories for the production of food, energy and water, as well as tools for conducting tests.

The science campus will also be home to a museum dedicated to the greatest cosmic achievements of mankind. The walls of the museum will be printed on a 3D printer using sand from the UAE desert.

"The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan created the state and instructed us to continue to work to become the best country in the world," said His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and ruler of Dubai.

He added: "The progress and prosperity of the UAE is a collective responsibility ... and we will not achieve our goals if we do not join our efforts and work as a team."

The Mars Science City project is part of the UAE Mars 2117 Strategy, according to which the first settlement on Mars should be built over the next 100 years. This project aims to attract the best minds from around the world to make a joint contribution to the development of humanity and the improvement of living conditions. It also addresses global issues such as the safety of food, water and energy on Earth.

The plan of the Mars Science City project includes an experimental element: a team will live in the model of the city for one year. Her experience will be an important starting point for future innovations in maintaining life on a foreign planet.

The architecture of the construction of Mars Science City will be the most complex in the world and will include a realistic environment that repeats the conditions on the surface of Mars. The city will consist of several domes. This project will be implemented by the team of Mohammad Bin Rashid Space Center and the Dubai Municipality in collaboration with renowned architect Bjarke Ingels.
