Named the best-selling smartphones in the UAE

Apple devices dominate smartphone sales in the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE Telecommunications Authority (TRA) reported that Apple's iPhone dominates smartphone sales for the second quarter of 2017. At the same time, the iPhone 6 model is the most popular. It accounts for 3.1% of the market. The share of iPhone 6S is 2.33%. In third place in popularity among consumers is the iPhone 7 with a share of 2.25%. 1.77% belongs to iPhone 7 Plus.

According to TRA, 81.5% of the registered devices for this period were smartphones.

In addition, in April 2017 and June 2017, 34.5% of all phones registered in the UAE's mobile networks were Samsung, 22.9% were Nokia, and 15.5% were Apple. The top five are closed by Lenovo (5.4%) and Huawei (3.2%).

The report also indicates that the iTunes Store was the most visited app store. It is followed by Samsung Apps and Android apps.

In terms of working with social networks, smartphone users in the UAE made 20.4 billion visits in the second quarter. Facebook accounts for 90.4%, Twitter - 5.0%, LinkedIn - 4.6%.
