The "number one" in Dubai, of course, is the Gordon Ramsay restaurant Verre - a project that has beaten a lot of difficulties at the initial stage, since the English style of restaurateur did not combine with the Arabic style of doing business.
I generally like Ramsey restaurants - in London, Petrus and Boxwood Cafe. In the UAE - Verre. Great food, great wine selection, light atmosphere, very friendly staff. After the first visit, maitre'd remembered my name, which is unusual and very pleasant for Dubai.
A few years ago, a woman was the chef of the restaurant, Angela Hartnet, a first-class master and an iron-aged lady. Now, she seems to have moved to New York, but the quality of the style remains.
Another restaurant that deserves all praise is Vu's on the 50th floor of the Emirates Towers. Very cozy, with muffled colors, romantic to impossibility. The kitchen does not differ shocking or an unusual set of ingredients: classic verified to molecules, perfectly cooked and just as perfectly served.
Vu's is also good because right after dinner you can go upstairs to a bar with great views of Dubai at night. The bar is small, very calm - you can drink a couple of cocktails and relax with good jazz.
The last time I was knocked down was the Tangerine Dream cocktail, which consisted of chopped pods of hot Thai pepper, slices of mandarin, honey, pink syrup, rum and, it seems, Cointreau liqueur. Two cocktails - and we already regretted that we came to the bar without parachutes. True, then she couldn’t fall asleep at home for a long time: the cocktail is good only if it was planned to continue the party until three in the morning.

Where to go for quality food? No doubt I would recommend the Bice Italian restaurant at the Hilton Jumeirah. There is a relaxing atmosphere with a piano and live music. Dimmed lighting creates such a pleasant atmosphere that all the people around you seem beautiful, despite the lack of an alcohol license in the cafe. Stylish audience, you can often come face to face with famous people. Yes, and of course, delicious desserts!
Where can I relax with friends? There are a lot of such establishments in Dubai, but I would like to highlight some of them. For example, Buddha Bar, for a good selection of music and a wide selection of places for dinner. I prefer a cozy lounge upstairs serving delicious sushi and cocktails. Naturally, tables must be booked in advance.
Liked the new elegant China Moon Champagne bar at Raffles Dubai. Maybe because he recently opened, there are not so many people there, and the waiters are extremely attentive. A huge selection of cocktails, including those prepared on the basis of champagne. They offered us Beluga caviar as an appetizer, costing from 2,400 drx, but we limited ourselves to fresh oysters at 170 drx per dozen and, swaying on a swing, went down to the Asiana Asian restaurant, where we tasted an inexpensive
but delicious crab with vegetables.
