High art of time measurement A. Lange & Sohne: the new 1815 Chronograph

The sensational premiere of Datograph watches, held in 1999, has established A. Lange & Sohne's outstanding reputation among top-class chronograph manufacturers. Then this reputation was confirmed over and over again by watches that became milestones in the history of watchmaking - Double Split and Datograph Perpetual. And now the premiere of the 1815 Chronograph watch has taken place, which represents the top of the model range of the 1815 collection, launched last year.

The mechanism of the new watch has a 60-hour power reserve, it uses a Lange spiral of its own production. Thanks to the well-thought-out arrangement of pointers on the dial, this watch resembles the historical A. Lange & Sohne pocket watch. Two symmetrically arranged additional dials of the second hand and a 30-minute counter emphasize the balance of the design of the watch.

The second dial on the outer circumference of the dial, made in the old style "railway", allows you to confidently determine the time measured by the chronograph in increments of 1/5 second. The elegant laconic appearance of the watch contrasts with the sophisticatedly designed chronographic Caliber L951.5, which is controlled by a column wheel and a step eccentric ("snail") of a precision minute counter with instant switching. One of the most striking among the many technical characteristics of the mechanism is the flyback function, which is available for a very limited number of chronographs. With a single press of the chronograph button, the 1815 Chronograph can be stopped during a previously started measurement, and the counters will be reset.
