They are called to the ring ...

The conservative capital of the UAE on May 14 this year held the ADFC heavyweight tournament in mixed martial arts in the spirit of Las Vegas. At stake is 1 million dirhams. In the hall - 6 thousand spectators. In the ring is the art of winning.

The tournament organizers tried to display a full-fledged show of fights without rules, adapting it as much as possible to local conditions and traditions. The audience was “warmed up” by the performances of the dance group in brilliant closed costumes, in between the fights, artistic tricks of young athletes were shown, and signs with round numbers carried long-legged models in bicycle leotards worn under short skirts across the ring.

Before the main fights of the heavyweights, demonstrations of fighters in light weight categories were held, setting the audience on a more gambling perception of the “battle of gladiators”. Russian athlete Malik Omarov, now training in Dubai, has already managed to win the love of the Emirate public in brilliant boxing matches. This time, he did not deceive the audience’s expectations, sending the Iranian fighter to the classic knockout. The long-awaited fights of heavyweights began after 22 hours, when the atmosphere in the hall was heated up to the limit (this is probably why all soft drinks were seized from all those entering the hall).

Heavy and very dangerous

Fights of heavyweight athletes are more spectacular, because every punch is tantamount to a hammer blow, an honed technique does not allow random misses: every knockout is a regularity, every trick is a classic of the genre, every missed shot is a lost chance of victory. And only splashes of sweat streaming down the reliefs of pumped bodies, and the loud exhalations of the fighters demonstrate their tension.

The first fight between the fighters of Neil Wayne and Przemyslaw Meshial ended with a knockout in the second round. The Polish athlete Przemyslav held very dignified, but the advantage was clearly on the side of the Nile. Brazilian fighter Marcos Oliveira did not leave a single chance of victory for his French rival Johan Romming. Literally in the first minutes of the first round, Marcos sent the Frenchman to an incredibly beautiful technical knockout. Perhaps a big difference in weight played an important role. A dramatic battle took place between rivals Ramo Thierry Sokodzhou and Dave Herman. Ramo’s thick hair, twisted in stylish dreadlocks, clearly interfered with the athlete and distracted him from the battle, for which he paid.

American Dave Herman carried out a series of punches on the body of Rameau, knocking him off the dance rhythm, and sent Rameau to the knockdown. In the heat of combat excitement, Dave did not let the bewildered Rameau rise and finished off the lying athlete with a knee to the head, for which he was disqualified. Dave's disqualification in the second round brought an automatic victory to Ramo Thierry Sokodzhou. The winner was led away from the ring, supporting on both sides by the arms. After a strong knockout, he could not rise on his own.

Clash of the Titans

The most anticipated battle is the battle of two titans. Shamil Abdurahimov, a fighter of the Rostov team Peresvet of the ProFC League, opposed the titled American rival of the famous heavyweight Jeff Monson. Needless to say, the hall was divided into two camps, half of which chanted: “Come on, Shamil!”, And the second was rooting for the American. Three heavy exhausting rounds did not end with a knockout. Both rivals were strong physically and technically well trained. The battle is worthy. By unanimous decision, Shamil Abdurahimov defeated Jeff Monson.

The compatriots share the joy of brilliant victories with our athletes, wholeheartedly congratulate the winners and wish them to continue to keep the strongest mark!

See you in the semifinals in the fall and cheer for our guys! For our victory!
