97% of UAE residents feel completely safe in the country

97% of citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates feel completely safe in the country. Also, the vast majority have never encountered crime in the country or had some minimal problems with crime, the results of a YouGov study showed.

“Absolutely safe” situation in the UAE is considered by 72% of respondents living in the capital, the city of AbuDhabi, and 52% of respondents in Dubai. In total, YouGov interviewed 1,750 people. As for the alignment according to nationality, 68% of emirates, 67% of immigrants from other Arab states, 55% of citizens of Western countries and 48% of Asians feel safe. Many respondents indicated that the absence of crime is associated with the adoption of the ideology of Islam, as well as the fear of being expelled from the country without the right to return.

Respondents indicated that almost all expatriates came to the UAE to earn money, since there are no such opportunities in their home countries. Therefore, people are afraid to commit illegal acts that entail deportation.

As the researchers found out, in the UAE still many people calmly leave the doors of apartments, cars and even shops open without fear of intruders from uninvited third parties.
