In Dubai put up for sale cars that took part in Speedcar International

Union Properties intends to put up for sale 30 racing cars ("stock cars") that took part in the Speedcar International Championship, held in Dubai from 2008 to 2009.

Racing cars put up for sale on the dedicated Go-Dove.com website can reach speeds of up to 225 km / h. Car owners hope to sell each one for US $ 1.5 million.

Cars will be sold by private agreement, so there are no specific deadlines for submitting applications. The auction will last for several months. Cars are currently in stock at the Dubai Autodrome. In 2008, they were purchased by Union Properties.

Speedcar International was part of Union Properties' MotorCity project, which was suspended last year due to the financial crisis. The Speedcar International series was conceived as a winter racing championship in the bodywork class held in Asia. Initially, the series was considered as “support races” for the GP2 Asia winter racing series, however, the participation in Speedcar of many famous ex-Formula 1 pilots such as Johnny Herbert, Gianni Morbidelli, Jacques Welnev, Alex Jong, Jyrka Järvilekhto and others , made the series no less popular than GP2 Asia.

The debut race of the series was held on January 25, 2008 in Dubai. The first Speedcar champion was a former Formula 1 driver, Johnny Herbert. In the 2008-2009 season, Gianni Morbidelli became the champion. On June 30, 2009, Speedcar race organizers announced their cessation.
