The green line of the Dubai metro will be launched in September 2011

According to Abdula Yunus, chief executive officer of the strategic and corporate governance department of RTA, the construction of the Dubai Metro green line will be completed in August this year, and it will open for passengers in September.

"We do not yet know the exact opening date of the green line, but this will most likely happen in September this year," Yunus said. “The prices for subway services on this line will be the same as on the red one. The whole structure will be exactly the same, without any changes.”

Recall that initially it was planned to open the "green" line in April 2010. The Green Line will consist of 18 stations and stretch for 22.5 km through densely populated areas of the city such as Deira and Bar Dubai. 12 stations of the line are located above the ground, 6 - underground. According to preliminary data, the new Dubai Metro line will be able to serve about 22 thousand passengers per hour.
