Red and black

FOLLOWING AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE B / ATTITUDE, I DIDN'T IMMEDIATELY UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A HEALTH AND SPA CENTER. Behind the registration desk, finished, like all other rooms, with a dark tree, and decorated with bright red vases with a painting of dragons and buddha sculptures, I was very finely divided.

It was a complete feeling that I was heading to the Buddha Bar. But I knew for sure that I was going to the new, just opened corporate spa in the second tower of the Grosvenor House hotel. By the way, also recently opened for guests in the heart of Dubai Marina. Ahead of me is a signature massage called “The Way to Freedom”, and as indicated in the brochure, which promised to unite the East and the West.

In fact, everything in this spa combines oriental techniques and moods with the western, now fashionable, striving for a healthy lifestyle. I decided to walk my "path to freedom", but I still had to get to it along rather confused and darkened corridors that seemed to me so terribly long, which were guarded by statues of Chinese warriors and bronze dragons dancing on each door. In the dim light of real candles from almost every wall, a wise Buddha smiled at me. At this time, my guide (she is a professional physiotherapist from the island of Bali), opened before me one after another treatment rooms (there are eight of them in the female section of the spa and four in the male section, I naturally didn’t get there, so I had to take the girl’s word for word), demonstrating the decoration of each. Both the design and the internal content, and even the names of the treatment rooms in this spa are different. There is a special room for Thai massages, a separate room for Moroccan baths, several massage rooms. I was especially pleased with the inspection of the pool hall, trimmed in black and gold tones and therefore looked somehow mystical, mysterious. Especially when steam, more reminiscent of fog, began to rise above the surface of round pools of water of different temperatures. Here, even the floors of black stones are more reminiscent of a fabulous pavement. There is a jacuzzi in the center, and on the sides there are glowing saunas and steam rooms.

With great regret, leaving the pool area, I go to my treatment room, on the way (necessarily) looking into the locker room and putting on a luxurious bathrobe and udother slippers.

Corporate massage in b / attitude begins with a ritual of washing the tired legs of a traveler (or a patient, in my case) in a bath with rose petals. After a relaxing scrub of the legs, an hour-long massage begins using a pleasantly smelling oil, during which the hard-working girl flexes literally every muscle, extends every tired joint, and makes the body respond to stretching. At the finish, a light head massage is performed, which finally brings me to my senses. The start and end of the procedure is marked by a long round sound of an impromptu gong - a copper bowl, onto which the physiotherapist makes a series of smooth movements. I found my way to freedom. Everything! The way out of nirvana. I smile goodbye to the Buddha on the wall, and go to the recreation area.

Here I am offered a cup of ginger tea, some honey and dried fruits - dates and dried apricots. To leave the kingdom b / attitude there is not the slightest desire. Apparently, there is something special in this amazing game of red and black, so unlike all the spa centers in which I had to be before. And, most importantly, there are surprisingly friendly people in the b / attitude who are glad to see you, as the most dear guest, and are ready to help cope with fatigue, stress and a bad mood. Thank you for their professionalism and hospitality! Not saying goodbye…
