Taxi driver returned US $ 54 644 forgotten in car

Having discovered 200 thousand Saudi riyals (US $ 54 644) and other valuable things forgotten by the passenger in his car, a taxi driver from Sharjah emirate found him and returned everything to the last detail.

Muhammad Tahir Amin, a Pakistani citizen who works in Sharjah as a taxi driver, served a passenger who got into his car and asked to be delivered to Sharjah International Airport. After the passenger left, Amin noticed that he forgot to pick up his briefcase, which contained a laptop, checkbooks, mobile phone, passport, documents and money for a total of 200 thousand Saudi riyals. The taxi driver immediately took the discovered values to the transport office of Sharjah International Airport, so that his employees could help find a forgetful passenger.

In recognition of her honesty, Sharjah Transport Corporation awarded Amin a cash prize and reduced the total amount of fines he received for violating traffic rules. “The passenger was planning to fly and drove to the airport late at night with his friend, apparently because of fatigue he forgot his briefcase with documents and money in a taxi,” said Rahma Al Shamsi, Assistant Director General of Sharjah Transport Corporation. “The relevant authorities were able to track him down while he was still at the airport, and forgotten things were returned.
